Yogas Of Education & Wisdom In Vedic Jyotish

In Vedic Jyotish the educational prospects & intelligence are judged from 5th Bhava, lord of 5th Bava and the natural planets signifying them i.e. Mercury for education & Jupiter for wisdom. But there are some yoga described in Vedic Jyotish and if they are found in any horoscope makes that person very educated and bless him with the intelligence and wisdom of higher order.
Some of them are discussed beow:

Part (A)
Amazing Planetary yoga of Education in Vedic Astrology

(This article was written by me on Friday, March 7, 2014 on the timeline of my facebook and the link for this article is given below:
https://www.facebook.com/vishal.aksh.7/posts/259122207598951)

This is amazing but true! In Vedic astrology certain yoga of planets has been given and the presence of any one of them in any person’s horoscope will make him very learned even if there are no usual combinations of planets signifying education are present in his horoscope. Such wonderful combinations described in ancient texts on Vedic astrology are given below:

(1)                        If in any horoscope lord of Lagna in 8th house this makes that person very educated.

(2)                        If in any horoscope lord of Lagna in 12th house this makes that person very educated.

Whatever has been, described in above mentioned points (1) & (2) equally apply to D24 i.e. siddhansh chart. But in my years of experience in the field of Vedic astrology I have found that the lord of lagna in such positions should not be afflicted by malefic planet / planets to make these combinations more powerful.

(3)                If in any horoscope Mars is found in 9th house than this makes that person very educated.

Whatever has been described as powerful yoga for education in above mentioned point (3) equally applies to D24 chart i.e. Siddhansh chart.

Part (B)
Amazing Planetary Yoga of Higher level Intelligence and Wisdom in Vedic Astrology

(This article was written by me on Thursday, February 20, 2014 on the timeline of my facebook and the link for this article is given below:

This is amazing but true!! There is an unbelievable combination described in the ancient text on Vedic astrology!! This combination works even if no other combination of Higher Level Intelligence & Wisdom is present in any Horoscope!!

In the year 1991 or 1992, I analyzed the horoscope of one of my friend of very amazing presence of mind but in his horoscope I have not seen the combinations of such amazing presence of mind and other traces of wisdom that he used to display in those years frequently. But what I saw in his horoscope that his Moon was in 6th house. But how does such position of Moon in any one’s horoscope make one so clever and intelligent? After that I have seen many horoscopes of the person of wonderful intelligence having Moon in 6th house in their horoscope.

Soon I got a Sloka in an ancient text on Vedic astrology. That sloka is given below:

षष्ठस्थो यदि वा चन्द्रो बुद्धिकौशल्यवान् भवेत् । (Shashthstho Yadi Chandro Buddhikoshalyaan Bhavet )

The meaning of the above sloka is if in any horoscope Moon is in 6th house makes one very intelligent and enable one to use his intelligence.

I have seen this amazing yoga working perfectly in the horoscopes of intellectuals, scientists, philosophers and thinkers.

In my years of experiences in the field of Vedic astrology I have found that this combination working perfectly in the following charts too:

(1)                     In the Chalit-Chakra of any person’s horoscope when Moon moves to 6th bhava from 7th house to 6th bhava or from 5th house to 6th bhava. This also makes one extremely intelligent.

(2)                     Moon in 6th house in Panchmansh (D5 chart not as in Varshphal) in any horoscope makes one very intelligent in dealing with philosophical matters.

(3)                     Moon in 6th house in Vinshansh (D20) chart in any horoscope makes one expert in displaying his spiritual abilities.

(4)                     Moon in 6th house in Siddhansh Chart (D24) in any horoscope gives one competitive abilities and competitive success.

(5)                     Moon in 6th house in Bhansh chart (D27) in any horoscope makes one extremely intelligent.

(6)                     Moon in 6th house in Khavedansh Chart (D40) in any horoscope makes one to use his intelligence and wisdom in doing the welfare of others.

So even an afflicted Moon in 6th house in any horoscope is good as one’s mental advancement is concerned but the learners and researchers of Vedic astrology should note that the position of Moon in 6th house also makes one depressed and worried besides making one extremely intelligent.

Karmic Base Of Vedic Jyotish

Part (A)
कर्म & गणित (Karma & Mathematics)
(This article was written by me on Monday, August 19, 2013 on the timeline of my facebook and following is the link for this post:

It is a thought and thought comes suddenly in mind. Some time it may be of comparative nature. It is bounds to give result. It is imaginative, inventive, intuitive & ingenious. It entirely depends on the purity of heart but appears in mind and easily combines with understanding to complete its action. Thus it is purely a mental action without intention.

Once on a very fine day, while thinking on the theory of कर्म (Karma) a thought appeared in my mind. At that time I found myself on the junction of conscious & sub conscious state of my mind. For a moment I found myself very near to that thought. That thought fascinated me and I forgot about what was happening nearby at that time.

It was the influence of that thought that put me to hear my inner voice. That inner voice gave a wonderful point & clue. The point was if all कर्म (Karma) are put into an account & if there is an account then there should be गणित (Maths). Which means कर्म (Karma) & गणित (Maths) must have some relationship.
And the clue was to put the theory of कर्म (Karma) in the format of गणित (Maths). The process as follows: -

कर्म (Karma)  = Physical actions + Verbal actions + Mental actions

Where physical actions = all the actions such as walking, jumping, exercising, etc. which are performed by body. These actions represent self.

Verbal actions = all the actions performed while speaking such as speaking the truth, speaking that truth which is not harmful to society, to keep promises & commitments, etc.

Mental actions = All the actions performed by mind such as solving the problems by the use of brain, thinking about the welfare of others, thinking about प्रकृति (Prakriti) & पुरुष (Purusha), doing मंत्रजप (Mantrajapa), meditation, etc

Suppose in above equation put verbal actions & mental actions = 0. Then above equation becomes:
कर्म (Karma)  = physical actions + 0 + 0 = physical actions
कर्म (Karma)  = physical actions.

The persons performing only physical actions as their कर्म (Karma) are only after physical charm and because of lack of other two actions they become greedy about money. Such types of person are Inferior person.

Putting mental actions = 0 in above equation. Then the above equation becomes: -
कर्म (Karma)  = Physical actions + Verbal actions + 0
Or कर्म (Karma) = Physical actions + Verbal actions
The person performing these two actions as their कर्म (Karma) are truthful, like purity, keeps promises & commitments. Because of physical actions they also want money but they are not greedy. Verbal actions do not much influence physical actions so they have value for money. As a result of these two actions they progress towards third actions and thus these types of person also give value to respect. These types of person are ordinary person.

The people performing all of three actions are superior person such as intellectuals, legends, Guru and कर्मयोगी (Karmayogi). They only want respect as if respect is their wealth.

Further more in the above equation: verbal actions > physical actions
& mental actions > > (physical actions + verbal actions) or in words mental actions are more than thousands times greater than the sum of physical actions & verbal actions. So (physical actions + verbal actions) may be rejected then the above equation becomes: -

कर्म (Karma)  = Mental actions

Hence everyone should perform mental actions for some times a day for enlightenment. Perhaps the thought showed its results. Never over look your thoughts.

Part (B)
How To Judge भाग्य (Bhaghya)
(This article was written by me on Sunday, August 18, 2013 on the timeline of my facebook and following is the link for this post:

For an astrologer it is essential to judge the भाग्य (Bhagya) of his client. No prediction can be true in full measure without the judgment of कर्म (Karma) that is why most of the times predictions made by astrologers about his clients fail. A person approaches the astrologer to know about his भाग्य (Bhagya).

This term भाग्य (Bhagya) is somewhat controversial. Some take it as the results of कर्म (Karma)   performed by any one in his previous birth there are some who consider it as a result of कर्म (Karma) performed in this present life. Any how one thing is clear that भाग्य (Bhagya) depends on कर्म (Karma).

Horoscope of any person reveals the good or bad results one is likely to have in this life on account of कर्म (Karma) performed by him in his previous birth. These results one is likely to have in this life on account of कर्म (Karma) performed by him in his previous birth are known as प्रारब्ध (Prarabdh) or दैव (Deav).

But on the other hand a person also performs कर्म (Karma) in this life a major portion of which become the प्रारब्ध (Prarabdh) for his next birth and a portion of his performed कर्म (Karma) of this life give the result in this life. This is nothing but क्रियमण कर्म (Kriyamaana Karma) or पौरुष (Paurush).

Now the term भाग्य (Bhagya) is clearly defined as the sum of दैव (Deav) & पौरुष (Paurush).
भाग्य (Bhagya)  = दैव (Deav)  + पौरुष (Paurush)
Hence भाग्य (Bhagya) depends on the कर्म (Karma) performed in previous birth and the कर्म (Karma) performed in this birth.

As I have mentioned earlier in this article that a horoscope reveals the दैव (Deav) but to know the exact भाग्य (Bhagya) knowledge of पौरुष (Paurush) is essential. Without the knowledge of पौरुष (Paurush) the भाग्य (Bhagya) in its true sense cannot be predicted & thus predictions are not fulfilled in full measures or even totally fail.

A person approaches an astrologer to know about his भाग्य (Bhagya) so there must be some connection between his horoscope & the time at which he asks question before an astrologer. The horoscope made at the time of question is horary horoscope or प्रश्न कुण्डली (Prashana Kundli).

It is from the deep analysis of natal horoscope along with horary horoscope the भाग्य (Bhagya) of a person can be predicted. It is from horary horoscope astrologer can judge weather his client is having the results of दैव (Deav) or पौरुष (Paurush). There may be three possibilities while comparing both horoscopes. They are as follows: -

(1)                        When natal horoscope shows good results & horary horoscope shows adverse results then it is to decide that the person is getting the results of his bad कर्म (Karma) done by him in this life. In this case if the astrologer predicts good then his prediction fails.

(2)                        When natal horoscope shows bad results & horary horoscope shows benefic results then it is to decide that the person is getting the results of his good कर्म (Karma) done by him in this life. In this case if the astrologer predicts bad then his prediction proves wrong again.

(3)                        When natal horoscope & horary horoscope indicate similar results either good or bad then it is to decide that the person is getting the results of the कर्म (Karma)  done by him in his previous life. In this case the prediction made by astrologer about his client comes true in full measures.

Part (C)
When Remedies Should Be Prescribed?

(1)             Nowadays it is seen many Vedic astrologer instead of analyzing horoscopes recommends a lot of remedies even though they are not required. This is not good.

(2)             When there are conditions as described under (1) & (2) of Part (B) of this article only then remedies should be recommended otherwise not. In case of perfect adverse results in any horoscope the prescribed remedies will not be performed by the person concerned.

(3)             Mnatrajapa is the best remedy in this Kaliyuga and it comes under mental actions as described in the Part (A) of this post.

More About Vargottamansh In Indian Astrology

When in any horoscope a planet occupies same sign in rashi chart as well as in navmansh chart then the planet is said to be in Vargottam Navmansh or simply Vargottamansh. For example any planet in Kark rashi and in Kark navmansh is said to be in vargottamansh.

The vargottam planet should not be in its debilitation sign. The vargottam planet becomes powerful to give good results. It is auspicious to be vargottam lagna in any person’s horoscope. Vargottam planet is supposed to give the same effect as if it were in its own sign.

In my long experience in the field of astrology I have found that the concept of vargottamansh needs expansion. Let me clear it with an example. Suppose a planet is in kark rashi, in kark siddhansh & in the vinshansh of mesh. Here in this case vinshansh & siddhansh charts give the effects of 5th bhava in the horoscope i.e. vinshansh for spirituality and siddhansh for education. In this condition the planet will give the effect of education more effectively (as this planet is in kark rashi & in kark siddhansh) than spirituality (as the planet is in the vinshansh of mesh). Thus a planet occupying same sign in rashi as well as in any divisional chart may also be termed as vargottamansh. Here in this case the supposed planet is in vargottam siddhansh.

Similarly a planet may be in vargottam Drashkan, vargottam chaturthansh, vargottam Saptansh, vargottam dashmansh & so on.

Another interesting thing I have found in my experience in the field of astrology that any planet occupying same bhava in chalit chakra as well as in any divisional chart is as effective as in vargottamansh and the planet is said to be in vargottam bhava. For example suppose any planet in 5th bhava in chalit chakra, 6th house in siddhansh and 5th house in vinshansh then this planet will give 5th house indications such as the results about education and spirituality in different manner. Here in this supposed case planet in 5th bhava in chalit chakra & 6th house in siddhansh will give set back in academic matter whereas planet in 5th bhava in chalit chakra and 5th house in vinshansh will give spiritual attainments because here the planet is in vargottam bhava.

So for perfect analysis of horoscope it will be wise to consider planets in vargottamansh as mentioned above and vargottam bhava.

Guru Chandala Yoga

There are several misconceptions about Guru Chandala yoga and also regarding its actual definition. It is necessary to understand the definition of this Guru Chandal yoga:

(1) Guru Chandal Yoga: In any horoscope when Guru (Jupiter) is in conjunction with (1) Saturn, (2) Gulika, (3) Rahu or (4) Ketu this yoga is said to present.

(2) Nowadays the entire Vedic astrological world forgot its actual definition and only considers the conjunction of Rahu with Guru resulting in Guru Chandal yoga and it is wrong not to consider its actual definition.

(3) If anyone studies ancient Vedic text then he will come to know that Rakshas were also said to possess supernatural powers, scientific knowledge, astrological knowledge e.g the Rakshas King Ravana was a great astrologer and he wrote Ravan Samhita a text on Astrology and another Rakshas Mya wrote Surya Siddhanta. The Rakshas were also great devotees and used to perform tapa for years to appease parmatma.

(4) But the drawbacks of Rakshas described in ancient Vedic texts were (1) Egoistic approach, (2) Selfishness, (3) Greediness, and (4) away from Vedic values of life.

(5) In ancient Vedic texts Rakshas, Dattyas, Chandalas, Danavas, Asuras, and Nishachras had similar characteristics.

(6) In Vedic astrology  Gulika , Rahu & Ketu represents Rakshas or Chandala and they come under the dominance of Saturn so these planets when associated with Satvik planet Guru (Jupiter) give rise to this yoga and make a person (1) Egoists, (2) Selfish, (3) Greedy, and (4) away from Vedic values of life but this Guru Chandal yoga never stops one's (1) spiritual progress, (2) education, (3) prosperity and (4) advancement of thinking level.

(7) If this yoga is present in D24 chart then because of the effect of this at school / college level the person will be opposed or punished by teachers to may be for his betterment or teachers find some uneasiness with him. If this yoga is present in D20 cahrt then here his spiritual Guru displays the same behavior toward him.

(8) In most of the tables & software the actual degrees, minutes & seconds of Rahu & Ketu are found different so they are sometimes not found at right position in D24 and D20 charts. LAHIRI'S INDIAN EPHEMERIS OF PLANETS' POSITIONS For any year gives accurate values of Rahu & Ketu.

(9) This yoga should also be judged in D27 chart.

(10) If this Yoga is present in main chart then it will also display its effects.

(11) Continuous practicing of yogic shatkarma and recitation of Prathama Charitra of Durga Saptshati are the remedies to remove the evil effects of this Guru Chandaal Yoga.

Why Do Natural Benefice Planets Owning Kendras Turn Malefic?

(1)    It is very important question as it is very simple to ask but difficult to answer. This question has been asked to me by several astrologers time to time.

(2)                        As I always use to say that the rules of Vedic astrology depend on either common sense or the knowledge of Vedic texts. So every rule of Vedic astrology is based on logic and there is no doubt in it.

(3)    Before describing why natural benefice planets owning kendras turn malefic, it will be better to understand why the term natural benefice or natural malefic is allotted to specific planets and this is useful to understand the Vedic astrology in depth.

(4)                        Vedic astrology recommends only nine planets, (1) Sun, (2) Moon, (3) Mars, (4) Mercury, (5) Jupiter, (6) Venus, (7) Saturn, (8) Rahu & (9) Ketu. Learners will find it hard to grasp that why Sun, Moon, Rahu & Ketu are termed as planets. Sun is a star, Moon a satellite of earth, Rahu is north node of Moon & Ketu is south node of Moon. Let it be cleared in mind that this categorization of planets allotting Sun as star, Moon as satellite etc are modern view of the present science and it has nothing to do with the classification of planets on the basis of Vedic astrology and they are classified in this way many centuries before by great Vedic rishi of India. Rahu the north node of Moon & Ketu the south node of Moon were known to those great Vedic rishi and that is why they termed them as shadow planets. So these nine planets are accepted in Vedic astrology.

(5)                        If common sense is used that anyone can define the term benefice or malefic such as anything appearing beautiful, gives feeling of joy or making one relaxed is a natural benefice thing  and on the other hand anything looking ugly, giving feeling of fear or making one uneasy is a natural malefic thing. In terms of planets Moon appears beautiful and gives a feeling of being relaxed is termed as natural benefice planet in Vedic astrology, Venus also appear beautiful and attracts everyone so it is also termed as natural benefice planet. In Vedic texts Mercury (Budh) is said to be son of Moon so it inherited its benefice qualities from Moon and that is why it is also termed as natural benefice in Vedic astrology and in Vedic texts Jupiter (Guru) is said to be the teacher, professor and spiritual guide who purifies the aatma (soul) and brings one from tamsik darkness to satvik light so it is also considered as a natural benefice planets. On the other hand it is dangerous to see the Sun with naked eyes, it gives a makes the temperature very hot which is very difficult to face so that is why Sun also considered as a natural malefic planets but it give light and directions so apart of being malefic planet it is not cruel planet. Mars appears red the colour of blood and it gives fear of war so it is also said as natural malefic planet and of cruel nature in Vedic astrology. In Vedic texts Saturn is described as of black colour and it gives fear of extreme darkness leading to feel insecure and without light it becomes impossible to see so Saturn is also described as natural malefic planet of cruel temperament. So based at common sense the natural benefice and natural malefic planets are described in Vedic astrology. Rahu & Ketu cause eclipse so create darkness so they are also treated natural malefic planets in Vedic astrology.

(6)    If common sense is used further then everyone will find that it feels good to eat every time but it does not result in good health, any person looking good may be evil by heart or an ugly looking person may be of kind heart. Flash eater lions protect the jungle and grass eater elephants destroy the jungle. So we find certain good looking things gives adverse results and certain bad looking things give good results. This holds well in case of planets too e.g. for Tula lagna the greatest natural benefice Jupiter becomes greatest malefic and greatest natural malefic Saturn becomes greatest benefice.

(7)    It becomes clear from whatever has been described under (5) about the logic behind taking Moon, Mercury, Venus & Jupiter as natural benefice planets and Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu & Ketu as natural malefic planets.

(8)    In Vedic astrology parmatma Vishnu is said to be the ruler of four Kedras ( Angular Houses 1st, 4th, 7th & 10th houses) and bgahvati Lakshmi is the ruler of trikonas (Triangular houses or trines: 1st, 5th & 9th houses). So in the Trimurti of Brahma, Vishnu & Mahesh, parmatma Vishnu is the divine preserver so the Kendra bhava of horoscope coming under his rule also indicate the responsible position.  Here again common sense is used to find the planet suitable for such responsible position. Starting with Sun, it is natural malefic but it is a King of all the planets so he can hold the responsibility to own kendras, Moon is a natural benefice planet is also a King but it of wavering mind and it acts as a king maker for other but in itself it is not capable to hold the positions of strong Kendras, Mars represents Kartkey the commander of the army of Devtas and it knows how to obey commend or give command so it is best planet to own the responsibility of Kendras, Mercury indicates a prince of teen age and a prince cannot be able to hold the responsibilities of Kendra, Jupiter & Venus are supposed to be rishi and tapsvi in Vedic texts and tapsvis cannot hold the position of responsibilities so Jupiter & Venus apart of being benefice planets are not capable of holding the position of owning Kendras and Saturn is servant and it is able to hold the responsibilities of owning Kendra as it is the servant who better knows his responsibilities so Saturn apart of being natural malefic planet can hold the responsibilities of owning Kendras and Rahu & Ketu have no ruler ship over any sign in Vedic astrology so they can not be the owner of any house.

(9)    It becomes from what has been discussed under (8) that 1. Natural malefic planets owning Kendra houses become benefice and 2. Natural benefice planets owning Kendra houses become malefic.

(10) But every planet irrespective of being natural benefice or natural malefic become benefice if it owns the 1st house or Lagna as 1st house also comes under trikona or triangular houses and lord of any trine houses is always benefice.

(11) For Mesh, Makar & Tula Lagnas natural benefice Moon becomes the lord of Kendra and it does not give good results for these Lagnas provided it is not involved in any rajyoga and this defect of owning Kendra is least in the Moon.

(12) For Dhanu and Meen Lagnas this natural benefice Mercury becomes the owner of Kendras and becomes malefic but it displays its evil nature more as compared to what natural benefice planet Moon displays for Mesh, Makar & Tula Lagnas.

(13) For Mithun & Kanya Lagnas natural benefice planet Jupiter owns Kndras so it gives evil results to these Lagnas.

(14) For Kark & Mesh Lagna natural benefice planet Venus owns the Kendra house and for these Lagnas so Venus becomes the most malefic planet for these Lagnas.

(15) Any natural benefic planet owning Kendra if becomes the lord of any trikona house then that natural benefice planet becomes yogakarka or extremely benefice planet in case of Makar & Kumbh Lagnas natural benefice planets Venus owns a Kendra house as well as a trikona house so for these Lagnas only Venus becomes the best benefice planets in addition of being the ruler of Kendras as a natural benefice.

(16) In this article I have tried my best to explain the logic behind this statement that benefice planets owning Kendras become mlefic.
