In my opinion, answers
to such questions can be given well on the basis of Vedic jyotish. Here let me
make it clear that the North node mentioned in western astrology is called Rahu
in jyotish and South node is called Ketu, so in this article, only Rahu and
Ketu will be used in place of North node and South node respectively.
To understand this kind
of curiosity, it is necessary to understand the story of the Vedic creation
described in the Shiva Purana. which is as follows:
At the beginning of
creation, there was a dispute between Brahma and Vishnu regarding superiority.
Then a linga appeared, whose neither beginning nor end was visible, so it was
decided that Brahma would find the beginning of the linga and Vishnu would find
the end and the one who would come back after completing his mission first
would be the winner. According to Shiva Purana, that divine linga extended till
Arda nakshatra. Both Brahma and Vishnu were unable to know the beginning &
end of that linga.
Source: Shiv Purana
It is clear from the
above legend that the Vedic universe extends up to Ardra nakshatra and because
Rahu is the ruling planet of Ardra nakshatra, therefore one end of the Vedic
universe becomes Rahu and the other end becomes Ketu.
In Vedic literature, the
sun is considered as the soul. Whenever Rahu is in the seventh house from the
Sun, it clearly means that there will be a conjunction between Sun and Ketu. In
a clear sense, the soul indicated by Sun will meet at the beginning of the
universe indicated by Ketu. The nature of Ketu is to go into the depths and
rise up like a flag, so this conjunction of Sun and Ketu shows enlightenment
and theoretically this conjunction shows the prohibition of the soul coming
into the earth, which clearly means freedom from the cycle of rebirth.
This combination shows
not only sacrifice but also dedication. The basic meaning of sacrifice here is
the suppression of all kinds of negativity, greed, hatred, attachment and
desires that arise in the mind and heart.
This conjunction of Sun
and Ketu can be found in the birth charts of great saints. Here I want to say
one more thing specifically that the conjunction of Sun & Rahu can also
make anyone a great saint, but cannot end the cycle of rebirth theoretically.
Therefore the
conjunction of Sun and Ketu makes a person spiritual and explains this great
Vedic law that whatever is present within me is equally in other living beings
also. If I feel Brahm within me, then that Brahm is also within you.
